I just reached home after David Tao's concert.

WOW! It was a 3 hours full concert, with lots of interaction with the audience. Sad thing was that the fans were not as HAPPENING as Jay's fans. Maybe, due to the age group, I guess.

Overall, it wasn't as good as the previous one I had watched in 2005. Simple stage layout. Nothing except the band. 4 sets of outfits. Everything is back to simple & sweet. Ultimately, what was good? His vocal. That, I have to salute him.

Pictures & videos will be uploaded soon (I hope). Stay tuned.

I had a SHORT break, away from the familiar Singapore and Batam, there I was with my cousin, Ailing. To be exact, we were there for less than 48 hours, but it was just enough for me to slightly recharge myself.

At the so-called London Bridge, or should I call it, Batam Bridge? I was told it was designed by their local Engineering Graduate. See how beautiful the scenery were.   Oh yes, they had a drink store via motor cycle.  Did you realise that they placed their can drinks upside down? For sure, a reason behind it. GUESS?

I was told it was to prevent dust from collecting at the mouth of the cans. Innovative! Cos I had never thought of that before.

This man is selling home-cooked seafood he had caught from the sea. If I am not wrong, 3 of any choice cost only S$1.50. Tasty? I am not sure. I did not buy to eat as I am allergy to seafood nowadays.

We went for our seafood lunch, whereby I was turned a "vegetarian". *Sob sob*   My cousin, Ailing and her stupid "Boy Boy" which turned up in Batam without a passport!

We proceeded to our "shopping trip" which we did not shop much except for food.

& FINALLY, we were sent to our hotel, Crown Vista, which is on top on a hilltop and from the balcony, you will be able to see the scenery of Batam.  Look at how grand the lobby is. Given that it is only a 3-star hotel.   We had a quick dinner and proceeded to our upgraded Deluxe Room (Additional S$20 per night) to have a short break before we had to our worth-the-value massage.

Our upgraded Deluxe room. The 2 super single bed.   What, in fact, interested us was the big big balcony.

The massage was satisfactory! Or I should say, I was GREAT till the extend that we decided to tip the ladies S$5 each! Worth the money (1 for 1 at S$66)! I was knocked out at 11.30pm that night.

The day scene of the balcony. Slightly rainy morning but we still proceeded to the swimming pool for a quick swim.

The next day, after our swim and breakfast, we ended up rotting at our hotel room until our check out time of 12.30pm. We were sent back to Batam Centre terminal and we hanged around at Batam Centre for a couple of hours. We had A&W, which was already extinct in Singapore. I miss the curly fries!

The donuts from J.Co are delicious, as compared to the ones I had in Singapore. Moreover, they are cheaper, S$0.90 each. I bought 6 back and I think I ate half of them. LOLx……

We even went to the Hypermart to get body scrubs. It merely cost S$2 per container. So cheap!

Our ferry was at 4pm Batam time.  On board the bigger ferry, looking at the deep big sea. FINALLY, a picture of me. Hee….

Off we went home. Good Bye Batam.

I WILL BE BACK SOON!

I miss Batam as at off now.

Go to CHANGI VILLAGE HOTEL (ex Le Meridien) !

Why would I recommend Changi Village Hotel?

You can unwind from the bustle of city life at the minimalist-chic Changi Village Hotel, where the uncluttered decor of sleek lines and stylish interiors offer a quiet repose for some needed rest and relaxation. Retreat to a relaxing abode of their unique guestrooms and shower facilities that come complete with basic amenities. Plus, you can pamper yourself to a rooftop spa or simply just indulge in the swimming pool & watch planes fly by. Pamper yourself at the rooftop spa or simply indulge in the swimming pool, as you look out into the horizon and watch planes fly by.

Imagine how cool this is!

This is their deluxe room.

Saltwater cafe.   A place for buffet and ala carte with indoor or alfresco dining. In additional, there is also a mini "see through" swimming pool outside the alfresco dining area. Salt water cafe is at the lobby and their operating hours are 6.30am to 11pm (Sun to Thu) and 6.30am to 12 midnight (Fri and Sat).

This is La Cantina in Venezia, on the 8th floor of Changi Village Hotel whereby the spa and swimming pool are. Imagine yourself enjoying the true blue Italian cuisines with breathtaking views of the vast eastern shore. Isn't it a perfect ambience for intimate diners under the moonlight? Hmmmm… Oh well, their operating hours are 11am to 12 midnight (daily).

Vau wine bar at the lobby together with salt water.

Not forgetting the pubs, hawker centre, parks etc nearby? Don't you think it's simply a very cool place to hang around?

I am thinking of booking a room either on my birthday or a so-called retreat day. LOLx…..
