Paparazzi Scared Jay Chou’s Girlfriend Away

After his ex-girlfriend was being pressurized by the media, Jay Chou doesn’t dare to fall in love again and even jokingly mentioned that his rumoured girlfriend Jiang Yu Chen is really unlucky!

Jay Chou and Lin Chi-ling, together with director Kevin Chu, arrived in Singapore two days ago to promote their latest movie The Treasure Hunter.

At the press conference, Jay was in a really good mood. During the interview, apart from answering to the questions posted, he even brought up his rumoured girlfriend, Jiang Yu Chen.

He mentioned that his character is similar to his role in The Treasure Hunter. When he is fond of someone, he will not make it clear to the person, instead, he will observe if the other party feels the same way as well.

However, at the same time, he too feels that love is about cherishing and when one meets the right person, they should grab the opportunity.

When probed if he had found the right girl, Jay replied, “(I’m) still searching. I’m afraid of rumours, thus I don’t dare to make female friends. Although I have quite a number of female friends, whenever we are out together, the media will take photos of us. Even when we are out in a big group, the media will say that we are dating!”

“My previous girlfriend was pressured by the media too much. Actually, it’s tough to be my girlfriend. Thus, I don’t have any intention of having a girlfriend for now, and being single is better. However, even when I’m single, the media still make up a lot of stories. I guess only after I’m married then will rumours stop!”

When asked if he was referring to Jiang Yu Chen, due to the recent “hotel photos” saga, he said, “Yu Chen is really unlucky I’ve known her for very long already, but because during this period, I haven’t made new female friends, so rumours about us have continued.”

He laughingly said, “She used to have a lot of suitors! But luckily she’s now partnering Yuri (Chan) [in the shooting of Pandaman], so the media can switch to write about them!”

When asked if he will develop feelings for Chi-Ling, he said, “She is the type of girls that many guys will like. We have been friends for so long! Actually, she has a guard against people, especially guys, but because I’m acting with her in this movie, she feels more at ease.”

The Treasure Hunter will be screening in local cinemas starting from 31st December 2009.

Treasure Hunters make their way to Singapore

LOOKING understatedly cool in a casual black jacket, Taiwan’s Prince of Pop flew into Singapore on Tuesday to promote his latest movie, The Treasure Hunter.

Accompanied by pretty co-star Lin Chiling – who was recently voted by FHM Taiwan’s sexiest for the third year running – and director Kevin Chu, Chou struck up a playful banter with the media and even flirted cheekily with his on-screen beau.

This is the trio’s second stop in a whirlwind promotion tour that includes Malaysia, Hong Kong and Taiwan.

The Treasure Hunter tells the story of a group of mysterious guardians who have kept hidden a map of a buried treasure of unbelievable riches in a safe location away from everyone.

However, a notorious international crime team known as ‘The Company’ are hunting down the map keepers and the only way to continue keeping the map in secret, a keeper passes the map to a young man named Ciao Fei (Jay Chou).

Due to circumstances, Ciao Fei is forced to give up the map in exchange of saving his mentor’s daughter’s life Lan Ting, played by Lin Chi Ling. Teaming up with an archaeologist and Lan Ting, the trio embark on a dangerous and exciting journey to recover the map and fight to protect the ancient treasure from being discovered in this action-adventure film.

The film also stars veteran actors Eric Tsang and Chen Dao Ming, and is directed by Kung Fu Dunk director Kevin Chu.

Okay, he puts on weight!

Jay Chou and Jiang Yu Chen’s Hotel Photos Revealed Their Relationship

When photos that featured what looks like the American hotel where Taiwanese singer Jay Chou is staying were posted on the blog of his rumoured girlfriend Jiang Yu Chen, it once again set off buzz about their supposed relationship. Two years into the rumour mill, neither party has yet to admit that they are seeing each other.

For more than three months now, Jay has been in America shooting his upcoming movie. The photos of the hotel posted up by Jay’s friends appear identical to those Yu Chen placed on her blog and were uploaded at almost the same time. The two sets of photos had the sofa, lights and curtains in similar colours and design.

Yu Chen has removed the photos, but this has spurred readers of her blog to speculate that the two are staying in the same hotel room, and that Yu Chen has “upgraded” to be “Jay’s other half”.

However, Jay’s record company JVR Music clarified the issue yesterday, saying, “The readers are really imaginative.”

Yu Chen’s record company, JuicyMusic, also commented that “Many hotels have similar room features, and it would be pretty farfetched if we were to say that both set of photos shows the same hotel. Furthermore, the company does not interfere with artistes’ personal schedule. If Yu Chen likes to share her photos on her blog, the company will not respond to her private matters.”

Talk about their relationship has never ceased since they were spotted playing basketball together in April 2007. Yu Chen also recorded a song in Jay’s movie, Secret, and was also featured in one of Jay’s MV from his new album soon after.

Yu Chen was also seen cruising around in a BMW with the license plate number consisting of her birth date, said to be a birthday gift from Jay to her, and there have been reports of her driving into Jay’s residential area. In 2008, Yu Chen was said to have followed Jay on a holiday tour in America, but she denies the allegation.

Taiwan’s Jay Chou goes to Hollywood: report

TAIPEI (AFP) – - Taiwan pop star Jay Chou will star alongside Nicolas Cage and Cameron Diaz in a movie remake of the popular US television series “The Green Hornet,” reports here said on Saturday.

Chou, 30, has been cast as the superhero’s sidekick Kato, a role played by the late Chinese-American martial arts icon Bruce Lee about 40 years ago, said the United Daily News.

“I am very happy to act in an international film. I will do my best,” the paper quoted Chou as saying in a statement issued by his company JVR Music.

Chou won the role after a video-link audition a month ago with the movie’s director Michel Gondry and writer Seth Rogen, who will play the lead character Britt Reid, or The Green Hornet, the report said.

Chou will start shooting for the film, scheduled to be released on July 9 2010, after wrapping up his directorial work for a television series and two concerts in China, it said.

The Apple Daily said Chou replaced Hong Kong star Stephen Chow, who was originally set to direct and act in the film, but had pulled out due to differences with Columbia Pictures.

Chou, also famous in China, Hong Kong and Southeast Asia for his pop music, has expanded into filmmaking in recent years, starring in a number of box-office hits including “Initial D,” “The Curse of the Golden Flower” and “Secret.”

Jay and Jolin just friends??!?!

Jay Chou and Jolin Tsai denied to have reconciled their relationship.

Chou said at a meet-the-fans session in Guangzhou, "I was prepared to clarify this. I love magic and had planned to open shops according to the initials order of poker cards – Jack, Queen then King – sequence. Some time back, I opened a restaurant named Mr. J. But Miss Tsai messed up my plans when she sang "Mr. Q" so I changed the name to Qute (pronounced as Cute). I have made plans for the shops way back and have expected that it will be linked up with her. I'm used to it."

Chow also expressed that he is already planning for a third shop, Mr. K, a Chinese cuisine restaurant. "Tsai and I are definitely just friends."

On a celebratory party for her album Butterfly in Beijing, Tsai said in a media interview, "I have no plans to open a restaurant. That is purely rumour."
She also said that she has always been friends with Chou.

Having stopped dancing to recuperate from her waist injury, Tsai said that she is feeling better now after two weeks rest. At the party, the management of Warner Music gave her a blank air ticket, representing the break she was given for September. Tsai is free to fill up the air ticket with any destination.

She said, "I hope to have some fun while revitalizing, and want to travel to a country or city that I've never been." The songstress is known to have written "Greece" and "Mediterranean" on the "air ticket".

On the other hand, Chou who has been heavily involved in movie and music production, and is currently busy filming movie Panda Man. His new album recording will commence around July.

When asked if he will start picking up English to break into the international market, Chou said it was not necessary.

"The Asia market is massive by itself. I don't think it is necessary to enter the Western market. It's good to have more opportunities, but it doesn't matter if I have less. Anyway, I don't really look forward to the international market."
