Recipe: Steamed prawn with rice wine and wolfberry
Fresh prawn is steamed to perfection with rice wine and wolfberries. Wolfberry is a super food that’s richly loaded with many types of essential minerals, vitamins and amino acids. It is also said to offer health benefits such as improved vision, longevity, muscular strength and energy. Wolfberry lends a faint fruity sweetness to this steamed prawn dish, which complements well with the slight bitterness of Chinese rice wine.
Serves 2
Ingredients:
10 shell-on and head-on prawns
1 clove garlic
1 tablespoon wolfberry
1 tablespoon Chinese rice wine
½ teaspoon sugar
1 tablespoon chicken bouillon (optional)
Salt to taste
4 tablespoons water
Method
1. Make a slit at the back of the prawns, remove vein and clean well.
2. Marinate the prawns with all ingredients for 15 minutes.
3. Heat up a wok with water and steam for approximately 8 minutes. Dish out and serve hot.
