Batam

I had a SHORT break, away from the familiar Singapore and Batam, there I was with my cousin, Ailing. To be exact, we were there for less than 48 hours, but it was just enough for me to slightly recharge myself.

At the so-called London Bridge, or should I call it, Batam Bridge? I was told it was designed by their local Engineering Graduate. See how beautiful the scenery were.   Oh yes, they had a drink store via motor cycle.  Did you realise that they placed their can drinks upside down? For sure, a reason behind it. GUESS?

I was told it was to prevent dust from collecting at the mouth of the cans. Innovative! Cos I had never thought of that before.

This man is selling home-cooked seafood he had caught from the sea. If I am not wrong, 3 of any choice cost only S$1.50. Tasty? I am not sure. I did not buy to eat as I am allergy to seafood nowadays.

We went for our seafood lunch, whereby I was turned a "vegetarian". *Sob sob*   My cousin, Ailing and her stupid "Boy Boy" which turned up in Batam without a passport!

We proceeded to our "shopping trip" which we did not shop much except for food.

& FINALLY, we were sent to our hotel, Crown Vista, which is on top on a hilltop and from the balcony, you will be able to see the scenery of Batam.  Look at how grand the lobby is. Given that it is only a 3-star hotel.   We had a quick dinner and proceeded to our upgraded Deluxe Room (Additional S$20 per night) to have a short break before we had to our worth-the-value massage.

Our upgraded Deluxe room. The 2 super single bed.   What, in fact, interested us was the big big balcony.

The massage was satisfactory! Or I should say, I was GREAT till the extend that we decided to tip the ladies S$5 each! Worth the money (1 for 1 at S$66)! I was knocked out at 11.30pm that night.

The day scene of the balcony. Slightly rainy morning but we still proceeded to the swimming pool for a quick swim.

The next day, after our swim and breakfast, we ended up rotting at our hotel room until our check out time of 12.30pm. We were sent back to Batam Centre terminal and we hanged around at Batam Centre for a couple of hours. We had A&W, which was already extinct in Singapore. I miss the curly fries!

The donuts from J.Co are delicious, as compared to the ones I had in Singapore. Moreover, they are cheaper, S$0.90 each. I bought 6 back and I think I ate half of them. LOLx……

We even went to the Hypermart to get body scrubs. It merely cost S$2 per container. So cheap!

Our ferry was at 4pm Batam time.  On board the bigger ferry, looking at the deep big sea. FINALLY, a picture of me. Hee….

Off we went home. Good Bye Batam.

I WILL BE BACK SOON!

I miss Batam as at off now.
