WTF!

Is there such law in Singapore saying that by 30, you have to get married? Otherwise it is a crime?

FARK! This was the commotion just now in my bloodly house!

My mum overheard my conversation on the phone and she came up with this crappy crap,

"Oh, she (as in the bride) is your age right? Should get married already. Coming to 30. Old liao. If fortunate enough, at your age, don't know how many kids already?"

Duhz….. Not again?!?! The above applies to her generation and not mine! OMG!

What is wrong for not getting married at the age of 30? What is wrong when I have yet found the Prince Charming? What is wrong of not giving birth at the age of 27?

Is she implying that I should be married by now? Obviously YES (I am using my butt to think now.)

FINE…. Maybe I should just grab a man, get married, give birth and divorce. That was my reply to her in Mandarin. This is the end result of getting married for the sake of getting married. Is she suggesting this to me? Hmmmm… In that case, she will have to find me a rich man. If not, send me to the so-called match making company.

Yeah, married early and have kids. Like lotsa friends of mine lor. With kid ages from 5 to 10. What happened to the marriage? Either broken, if not, each leads their own lives. Is my mummy asking me to join their "club"? Kinda easy. Just grab a man and spend the night with him, claiming that I am a virgin. Cry and sob tomorrow morning, saying that he has taken my virginity. Duhz…..

Now that my mum is in such a hurry to marry me off, I need to post an ad like Steven Lim.

I NEED TO GET MARRIED. ANYONE WANNA MARRY ME? PLEASE LET YOUR CONTACT NUMBERS AND EMAIL AS COMMENTS. THANK YOU SO MUCH.

  1. Actually the breaking point of a marriage or relationship has little to do with how young they have children. The eventual problem still falls back on the husband and wife. No matter what age they get married and have kids, if both are unable to resolve conflicts effectively, the rest are useless.

In our parents day, the tradition values of “jia ji sui ji, jia gou sui gou” has helped alot of couples pull through. In our modern times, our education preaches me me me me me, nothing but me. The desire and ability to compromise is simply not there.

Lisa&PeiPei - Please tell my mum that.. Thank you.

Xizor2000 - Thank you. But u did not leave your resume in my blog. Haha… Never try never know.

Ed - I strongly agree with you. It is the “me me nothing but me” world now. That is why I dare not get married. Moreover, I distrust my eye sight when it comes to picking a bf. Guess I need to do a eye check up. Oh yes, btw, Princessa says you are nice. =P

  12. Hee hee… here’s a possible way to get them off your back - tell them you’re a lesbian… u don’t like guys. :D

Then again… it may cause more problems since they seems so conservative.

    Comment by Miccheng — July 25, 2007 @ 2:19 pm

  13. DK - Thanks for coordinating. We will split the deposit by 50/50. Oh yes, you are not joining the queue? LOLx…

Miccheng - That will cause more problem. Well, my mum isn’t that conservative but she got influenced by her stupid friends. #^(^$Q) You know what I mean.

  14. Quite funny… she should be more supportive of you then, since you are her own daughter. Mum’s just want to compare compare lah… like one-up on the Jones… “my daughter already got 2 kids liao, you leh?”

Maybe her answer should be: “So how much money she (they) owes the bank ah? Housing & kids very expensive leh. How many ‘C’ husband? 2 only ah? Aiyoh… should wait for 5-C one mah, like my daughter!”

Now that’s standing up for her daughter man.

  18. Soon later…

The “msn-ing me pasting the link for me to click” kinda accelerated my rapid response -_-”

“Berlin - Maybe cos I prefer to marry for love? Hmmmm…” - The day you’re able to define possession and love then get married. I don’t think I need to elaborate. You should fairly well understand what I mean.
