Which one do you prefer? Honda Integra or a Toyota Celica?
It has a 2.0-litre i-VTEC engine which produces a healthy 160bhp, and is driven through a five-speed automatic transmission. A five-speed manual is also available.When driven in town, only the low seating position and appropriately firm suspension remind one that the Integra is a coupe. The steering and engine response is as laid-back and relaxing as any Honda family car. Drive it enthusiastically however, and the Integra gamely responds with fluency when it is shown a series of corners. Further up the rev band, a decently bassy exhaust note can be heard, adding to the Integra's sense of occasion.The five-speed automatic transmission also has a Tiptronic-style manual override that feels good to use with its well-shaped gear knob that nestles in the hand. The Integra continues to impart the sporty impression with racy-looking front seats that have improved support from last year's model. Rear occupants however are not as well taken care of as with that swooping roofline taking its toll on headroom. Legroom however, is decent for a coupe in this class. Another pleasant surprise was the generous boot, which is large enough to swallow a full-sized suitcase or a golf bag. The luggage bay's practicality however, is hampered by a high sill that can make loading heavy items difficult. Still, the Integra is a coupe after all and frequent runs to Ikea probably weren't in the Integra engineers' design brief. wo-door coupes are easy enough to find but buying one for under $100,000 is a rare distinction that the Integra manages to achieve. It is well made, handles like a sports car, looks the part and even makes all the right noises when you depress the accelerator.
